About Due West, SC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Due West is a town of about 1,200 residents in Abbeville County, South Carolina. It is about 12 miles north of the city of Abbeville, but does not take its name from its proximity to any other town. Instead, it is named for an old trading post along the Cherokee Path which was established by a man named Duett or DeWitt.

Due West is home to Erskine College, which is a small private liberal arts institution affiliated with the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Erskine Theological Seminary, which is the nation's only Associate Reformed Presbyterian seminary, is affiliated with the college, although it also has extension sites in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Augusta, Georgia. Graduates of the seminary go on to become ordained ministers in the very conservative Associate Reformed denomination of the Presbyterian Church. The Bowie Arts Center, a 14,000-square foot museum and art gallery on the campus of Erskine College, houses a collection of collection of antique mechanical musical instruments, clocks, glass, porcelain, clocks and  furniture from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Bowie Arts Center also houses a photography collection of historical interest, featuring old images of Abbeville County as well photogravures by Edward S. Curtis.

Due West has a temperate climate, mild in the winter when temperatures often reach as high as 50 degrees. Summers can be hot and steamy, with temperatures climbing to 90 or above, but springs are truly lovely, and Due West celebrates its finest season wit an annual Spring Festival every April.
